A magnificent example of colorless sapphire from Sri Lanka!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, doubly terminated crystal of sapphire!!! This specimen
has very sharp and highly lustrous faces!!! The crystal has terrific gemmy clarity and
is near colorless with yellow highlights that vary in intensity depending on the viewing angle!!! There also appears to be a crystalline inclusion as well!!!
The most striking feature however is this specimen's unique habit!!! The crystal is doubly terminated with unusually truncated terminations on both ends - giving the crystal
a decidedly lemon-like appearance!!! There is also an area around the midpoint of the specimen where there is a jig-saw like seam that almost makes it appear to be
twinned in some unusual fashion!!! This specimen also fluoresces two different colors - reddish orange under LW UV and lemon yellow (ironically!) under SW UV!!! The
reddish orange fluorescence is even throughout the specimen while the lemon yellow fluorescence exhibits highlights along growth lines!!! This specimen
is complete all around and is simply stunning in person!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!!
