Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of this esteemed gem species from Tasmania!!! This specimen consists of an alluvial sapphire crystal that hosts a rich royal blue layer of gemmy sapphire followed by a layer of chatoyant, almost colorless sapphire on the bottom!!! The blue layer is very gemmy and takes up about two-thirds of the crystal!!! You can see right through to the chatoyant layer below!!! This specimen is WAY better than it appears in the pics!!!
