Scheelite on Quartz with Epidote Greenhorn Mountains District (Greenhorn District), Kern Co., California 4.1cm x 2.82cm x 2.56cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of gem scheelite with epidote from California!!! This specimen hosts a group of highly complex crystals of colorless gem scheelite prominently perched on a quartz crystal matrix in association with olive colored epidote crystals!!! The highly complex surfaces of the scheelite crystal make it difficult to capture the fact that this is GEM scheelite!!! The scheelite crystals have complexly etched yet highly lustrous faces - these crystals are complete and in fantastic condition!!! These Kern county scheelites are uncommon and examples on matrix, let alone clusters on matrix, are very rare indeed!!! This is a fantastic example of the species for the locality!!! Of course this specimen fluoresces and intense blue under UV light as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
