Scheelite and Fluorite on Quartz Camp Bird Mine, Ouray, Sneffels District, Ouray Co., Colorado 5.6cm x 4.3cm x 3.06cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of scheelite from Colorado!!! This specimen hosts numerous sharp scheelite crystals in association with a layer of highly complex colorless fluorite crystals on a quartz matrix!!! The scheelite crystals are sharp, glassy, and have marked translucence!!! The scheelite crystals are complete and undamaged with numerous complex features and modifications!!! The fluorite consists of a network of small, sparkling, curiously elongated and complex intergrown crystals that are simply amazing upon close examination!!! There are also a few tiny chalcopyrite crystals interspersed among the fluorite as well!!! The scheelite crystals fluoresce a bright blue under SW UV!!! This is an incredible specimen in person - these pics don't even come close to capturing just how dynamic it is!!! A very lively and significant scheelite from Colorado!!! STAY TUNED!!!
