Description/Interesting Notes: A classic old time example of almandine garnet from New York City!!! This specimen consists of a dense matrix of Manhattan schist that hosts numerous almandine garnet crystals throughout!!! The andradite crystals show a combination of rounded and sharp crystal faces and have a dark brownish to reddish color!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! This specimen is from the Albert Peppis Collection and retains his original label!!!
