Schröckingerite (shroeckingerite) Wamsutter, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming 4.6cm x 3.8cm x 3.2cm Ex. Ken Hogan Collection

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of rare shroeckingerite from Wyoming!!! This specimen hosts two areas of bright yellow shroeckingerite crystals in matrix!!! This species exhibits UNUSUALLY intense fluorescence - much more so than most of the uranium-bearing species that I can think of!!! Even indirect sunlight brings out its fluorescence!!! These pictures exhibit the specimen under incandescent lighting with the UV source some distance away to give you some idea of just how fluorescent it is!!! The crystals look more yellow than white in person, however they were so pearly and vivid that the camera shows them lighter than they are!!!
