Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this highly sought after species from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a highly complex, doubly terminated
crystal of gemmy blue scorodite in association with a small amount of matrix!!! It was quite difficult to capture
this specimen in the pics - this highly complex crystal is doubly terminated, complete, and undamaged all around!!! The
crystal shows a highly complex etched surface with glassy luster, gemmy clarity, and characteristic lively blue to blue-purple color!!! The specimen
shows dramatic color change depending on both the viewing angle and the type of light!!! These scorodite specimens
from Tsumeb represent the finest examples of the species known and are truly incredible in person!!! The crystal is
simply incredible in person and upon close study!!! The complexly etched features combined with the rich color and
fine quality make for a unique and impressive specimen indeed!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or a scope there are
some microcrystals of gartrellite and a few microcrystals of gemmy red carminite as well!!! This specimen
retains an old label from the Rice Museum as well!!! Tsumeb scorodites are highly sought after by collectors and
quite difficult to acquire!!! Don't miss out on this highly prized Tsumeb rarity!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
