Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of scorodite from New York!!! This specimen consists of massive greenish scorodite that hosts a cluster of bluish
scorodite crystals!!! The crystals are quite well formed for the locality!!! The crystals are sharp, lustrous, and have marked clarity!!!
In addition to the main cluster of bluish scorodite crystals there is a second bluish cluster on the reverse as well as numerous areas of
smaller greenish scorodite crystals scattered about the specimen!!! The color of this specimen seems to change, rather significantly, depending
on the lightsource - with dramatic shifts in color between incandescent, natural, and fluorescent lighting!!! This is old material
that came out of the Seaman Museum and was with a group of "massive" scorodite specimens from the same locality!!! This is a magnificent example of
the species for the locality!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
