Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of scorodite and lollingite from the type locality!!! This specimen consists of a rich example
of lollingite that hosts numerous crystals of scorodite!!! Let me start off by saying that this specimen is way, WAY better than these pictures show!!! The
scorodite crystals are much more plentiful and apparent in person, as are the radiating groups of lollingite crystals!!! The lollingite is
present as radiating groups of crystals as well as visible metallic masses seen on the side and reverse of the specimen!!! The main face of the specimen
simply appears gray in the pics, however much or this material is crystalline lollingite!!! All of the vugs, nooks, and crannies host a rich coverage
of sharp, glassy crystals of scorodite!!! The scorodite ranges in color from brownish to green to cornflower blue-purple!!! The whitish translucent material
is actually well crystallized, etched selenite!!! Upon close inspection, one can also find some small crystals of pharmacosiderite and what appear to be
some areas of microcrystalline carminite as well!!! This is a fantastic old time rarity indeed!!! This specimen retains an old affixed label (collection unknown) as well
as a label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED THIS WEEK, ALL ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 30th!!!
