Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of selenite from Franklin!!! While selenite is relatively common elsewhere, examples of selenite are rare
in Franklin!!! This specimen consists of crystalline selenite that hosts a significant showing of associated species partially included within!!!
There are complex masses and grains of a brownish mineral (andradite?), black opaque material (franklinite?), tiny grains of a dark slightly metallic mineral
with green alteration, and some whitish calcite that fluoresces reddish orange under SW UV!!! The selenite itself shows a slightly yellowish fluorescence (although it
doesn't show up that way in the pics for some reason)!!! This specimen retains an old Yedlin label as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 8th!!!
