Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of senarmontite with stibnite from China!!! This specimen dates to the early 1900's and consists of a
dense group of parallel stibnite crystals in association with some massive quartz matrix that hosts a vug filled with
sharp, lustrous, modified octahedral crystals of senarmontite!!! The crystals have a creamy tan color with sharp faces and
marked luster!!! This specimen's old label gives the locality as "Chin Chow, Kwantune, China" - according to our research,
"Chin Chow" is a variable spelling for Jinzhou, Jinzhou which was in a region called "Kwangtung" (Kwantune)
which is modern day Liaoning Prov. in Manchuria!!! This specimen came from Howard Belsky and retains an old label from
John E. MacDonald as well!!! Rare old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 7th!!!
