Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of senarmontite from the type locality!!! This specimen hosts numerous octahedral crystals of senarmontite in matrix!!! The
octahedral crystals might at first appear to be broken, however, upon close inspection one finds that they are actually just complexly etched and have intricately detailed
crystallized faces!!! There also appear to be tiny, bladed prismatic crystals in areas of the matrix that are possibly valentinite crystals!!! Matrix examples of
senarmontite are very uncommon indeed!!! This specimen likely dates to early finds at this locality made during the late 1800's!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person
to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen retains its original Seaman Museum label as well!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
