Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely INCREDIBLE pseudomorph from this famous historic locale!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, complex crystal of
enstatite that has been completely replaced by fine, dark green serpentine (antigorite)!!! The crystal shows magnificent
detail and sharpness of form - especially for the species and locality!!! The specimen exhibits
complex termination features and various sharply defined crystalline features along its length!!! The specimen is
complete and in fantastic condition!!! The crystal has marked luster and a rich, dark green color with very slight translucence!!! This is an
AMAZING specimen for the locality!!! This is OLD material that likely dates to the 19th century!!! The Tilly Foster
Iron Mine was closed in 1897 after a tragic and deadly rockslide occured!!! Specimens are quite scarce and highly sought
after by collectors today!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired
the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting
minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was
originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 27th!!!
