Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely gorgeous example of shattuckite from this seldom referenced, old time locality!!! This specimen consists of
a dense mass of gem-grade shattuckite in association with tenorite, ajoite, malachite, mottramite var. duhamelite, and namibite!!! This
large, gem-grade specimen is heavy, dense, and solid!!! The specimen has been expertly polished on one side to exhibit its stunning
variety of colors and patterns!!! There is absolutely nothing like this rare old material from Navojoa - the pictures don't even come close
to capturing just how striking it is in person!!! The great majority of the specimen is comprised of lapidary grade
shattuckite that exhibits an absolutely gorgeous range of blue colors!!! The tenorite is present as darkly colored masses that
compliment the intense royal blues of the shattuckite!!! Throughout the shattuckite and tenorite are scattered masses of turquoise blue-green colored ajoite,
green masses of malachite, and lively yellow-green masses of mottramite var. duhamelite and namibite!!! The rich colors and amazing
patterns seen in the polished face are simply amazing in person!!! The reverse of the specimen has some vuggy areas that
hosts pockets of actual shattuckite crystals!!! In addition, there are areas of velvety botryoidal malachite, as well as areas of
crystalline mottramite var. duhamelite and namibite!!! This is an AMAZING specimen all around!!!
These old time Navojoa
shattuckite specimens are very scarcely seen on the market!!! This specimen retains an old label from Forrest Cureton as well!!!
Don't miss out on this rare and aesthetic old timer!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
