Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of native silver from this historic Colorado locale!!! This specimen consists of a rich showing of native silver wires prominently perched on a small amount of matrix!!! The native silver is present as an almost spongiform mass of small, tightly curled native silver wires with numerous elongated wires jutting out in an aesthetic fashion!!! The native silver wires have a brilliant metallic luster and a gorgeous iridescent patina in areas!!! The wires are much more rigid then they first appear!!! This specimen retains an old label from the collection of Percy A. Foster (1889-1968) as well!!! These old time native silver specimens from Aspen are quite scarce and highly sought after!!! Simply a fantastic example of the species from Aspen!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
