Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of native silver from Sterling Hill!!! This specimen consists of massive chalcocite that hosts a group
of native silver wires that measure approximately 3mm!!! The native silver is present as a tangle of darkly colored wires and, upon
close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can find a few minute, submillimeter bits of native silver here and there as well!!!
Examples of native silver from this locality are very rare indeed!!! There are some areas of calcite and possibly other
species present as well!!! Under SW UV the specimen shows some faint green fluorescence dotted with red calcite!!! Rare material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 19th!!!
