Native Silver
Algonquin Mine, Philipsburg District (Flint Creek District), Granite Co., Montana
1.64cm x 1.45cm x 1.22cm
Ex. Robert E. Jenkins II Collection No. 8001
Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of native silver from this seldom represented Montana locality!!! This specimen consists of a small amount of matrix that hosts a
lone wire of native silver curled atop in addition to a small amount of massive silver!!! The native silver is near black in color as the result of microcrystalline
acanthite on its surface!!! This specimen is from the personal
collection of scholar and collector Bob Jenkins and retains his original label as well!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
