A rare, old time example of native silver from Nevada!!! Specimens of native silver from Nevada's great silver rush days are very scarce
indeed!!! This old time specimen hosts several dendritic crystals of arborescent native silver on matrix!!! It appears that there is likely some microcrystalline
acanthite on the crystals as well!!! This specimen is from the collection of former U.S. Congressman Henry Stockbridge Jr. (b.1856)!!!
Stockbridge graduated from Amherst College in 1877 and became a lawyer, U.S. congressman,
immigration commissioner for the port of Baltimore, and judge of the Maryland Court of appeals!!! This specimen retains its original Stockbridge
label (with Storey Co. notation on reverse)!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
