Native Silver with Quartz & Pyrite

Alamos, Mun. de Alamos, Sonora, Mexico

3.45cm x 3.1cm x 3.05cm

Ex. J. Penrose Ambler Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic, old time example of native silver from this seldom referenced locality!!! This specimen consists of a quartz crystal matrix that hosts numerous tangled wires and small arborescent masses in association with sharp cubic pyrite crystals!!! Upon close inspection, one can see that the native silver has numerous highlights of iridescent and golden patina (in fact, under the scope it almost looks like there are minute areas of native gold on the silver)!!! The pyrite crystals are sharp and have brilliantly lustrous metallic faces!!! This specimen is quite handsome in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 27th!!!
