A rare, old time example of native silver with acanthite and pyrargyrite from Cornwall!!! This specimen hosts a rich network of
native silver, acanthite, and pyragyrite in a matrix of siderite crystals!!! The native silver is partially coated by and in close association with
darkly colored acanthite!!! The pyrargyrite is present as brilliant, silvery masses within the siderite!!! The pyrargyrite is dark in color but upon close examination (or scratching) the
red color of the pyrargyrite can be seen!!! These old time Cornwall silver specimens are quite scarce indeed!!! This specimen retains an old Prof. Heinrich/University of Michigan label!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!!
