Description/Interesting Notes:
An old, rare locality example of native silver from Mexico!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of native silver across its broad face and throughout the matrix as well!!!
Upon close examination, one can see that the native silver is actually comprised of minute, compact wires!!! There is some acanthite in association as well as some other unidentified species and
numerous small masses of lively red proustite or pyrargyrite!!! This specimen is way better than the pictures show!!! The native silver rich, showy, and prominent!!! Old
time native silver specimens from this locality are extremely rare indeed!!! This specimen retains old labels from the Ottinger Collection and John Albanese as well!!! (Interestingly, the Ottinger Collection
label appears to have been written on old stationary from The New York Mineralogical Club)!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 16th!!!
