Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time native silver combination specimen from this classic German locality!!! This specimen consists of a complex
combination of acanthite, calcite, nickelskutterudite, annabergite and stephanite that hosts several scattered wires of native silver!!!
Let me just say that there is a LOT going on with this specimen and it is way better than the pics show!!! The acanthite is present as
massive material intimately intergrown with some of the other species and showing some slightly lustrous, oddly curvaceous surfaces!!!
The calcite is present as a network of juxtaposed bladed crystals on one side of the specimen!!! Some of the calcite crystals appear to have a
curious acanthite-like patina as well!!! The nickelskutterudite crystals are present as complex, cubo-octahedral modified crystals that have
a somewhat altered patina!!! There are numerous tiny balls of light green annabergite present in masses around the specimen in addition to
other, unidentified species in close association!!! The stephanite crystals are present as complex crystal groups near the base of the
most prominent silver wires and elsewhere!!! The stephanite crystals have highly complex forms however they have a brilliant metallic luster!!!
The native silver wires are present tangled throughout the specimen and there are more to be seen upon close inspection!!! Simply
an incredible old time combination specimen - and there is much more going on than I have even described!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 29th!!!
