Native Silver

Niederschlema, Schlema, Schlema-Hartenstein District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany

2.25cm x 1.87cm x 1.5cm

Ex. Howard Belsky Collection

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of native siler from Germany!!! This specimen consists of a dense and aesthetic tangle of native siver wires!!! Examples of native siler wires from this locality are scarce compared to the much more common dendritic crystals!!! This is particularly rich, old time material!!! The wires are rigid and substantial - there is a bit of almost spongiform silver that serves as a sort of matrix for the wires!!! The silver has a brilliant metallic luster and gorgeous antiqued patina!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! This specimen retains an old label from the Howard Belsky Collection as well!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED THIS WEEK, ALL ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 30th!!!
