Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of native silver from Butte!!! While there was a significant amount of silver recovered at Butte, examples of
native silver are quite scarce indeed!!! This specimen consists of a mass of iridescent bluish bornite that hosts a significant showing of
native silver!!! The native silver is present as broad, sheet-like masses and thin veins throughout the bornite matrix!!! Upon close inspection one can see that
there is much more silver than the pictures show!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains a pair of old labels with affixed catalogue numbers and
its original antique, glass-lined specimen box!!! Rare old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 30th!!!
