Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of native silver from this historic locality!!! This specimen hosts a significant showing of native silver with associated sulphides on matrix!!! The native silver is present as patches of minute wires in close association with darkly colored sulphides (acanthite among them) on matrix!!! This is rare, old time material that dates to the 19th century!!! This specimen retains an old label as well!!! Nevada is known as "The Silver State" due to its rich silver-mining history and it all began in this famous district!!! These old time silver specimens from Nevada's historic silver boom are extremely rare today!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
