Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of native silver from Mexico!!! This specimen consists of a very rich showing of complexly crystallized native silver
in association with a small amount of quartz and sphalerite!!! While the majority of native silver specimens from this region exhibit characteristic
"feathers" this specimen is comprised of much more complex crystals that are comprised of unusually broad spinel twins with highly complex
modifications!!! In person this unique and showy habit is much more apparent and sharply defined!!! The crystals have brilliant metallic luster and
a handsome "antique" patina!!! The majority of the white matrix seen is actually a "sugary" network of intergrown, grain-like
quartz crystals!!! There is also some greenish to near black sphalerite in association as well a bit of massive calcite as well!!!
Classic, older material from this famed locality!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person
to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 6th!!!
