Native Silver with Acanthite on Calcite Keeley-Frontier Mine, Cobalt-Gowganda region, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada 8.2cm x 5.5cm x 2.7cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of native silver and acanthite from Canada!!! This specimen consists of a very rich showing of native silver wires and complex acanthite crystals that have been etched out of a calcite vein!!! The native silver is present as thick, brilliant wires that exhibit a showy, slightly golden patina!!! Many of the wires are quite rigid and significant!!! There is a significant showing of acanthite on one side of the specimen, including several highly complex crystalline forms!!! Upon close inspection the acanthite is remarkably well crystallized and exhibits some remarkably sharp, lustrous crystal faces!!! Some of the acanthite is intergrown with native silver as well!!! There is a LOT going on with this specimen - the pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
