Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of native silver with galena from this seldom referenced Montana locale!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of quartz and massive
galena that hosts a significant showing of native silver!!! Upon close examination, one can see that the tufts of native silver are made up of
some tiny, partial wires, there are also some remnants of crystalline faces on the tufts of native silver - possibly contacts or partial remnants of since dissolved crystals!!!
The silver is in intimate association with galena as well!!! This locality was known for its silver-rich argentiferous galena in the past!!! There is also some
sphalerite present in the matrix as well!!! This specimen retains an old, script label that is quite faded (at some point someone tried to trace part of it in pencil), however
upon close inspection one can still read a significant portion (it looks like the word "Linda H" before Lloyd, which likely refers to the locality's antiquated name of Linda Mine)!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Very rare old time material!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
