Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of native silver from this seldom referenced locale!!! This specimen hosts rich showing of
native silver in association with fine grained galena!!! The native silver is much more rich than it first appears - upon
close inspection one can see that the native silver is almost like a cement that is richly intermixed with the fine grains
of galena!!! The native silver has a bright, slightly tarnished appearance that makes it stand out from the silvery galena in a
handsome fashion!!! The label simply notes the locality as Ravalli Co., however further research indicates that the specimen is
likely more specifically from the Anaconda Range west of Butte!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer and retains its original personal collection label!!!
