Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique, old time example of native silver from Mexico!!! This specimen hosts a striking showing of native
silver in association with sphalerite on matrix!!! The
native silver is present as a rich tangle native silver wires in addition to complex native silver crystals!!!
Upon close examination, one can see that the
wires actually have crystal faces on them rather than lengthwise striations - these very curly "wires" are actually highly complex
crystals!!! The native silver is brilliantly metallic with a gorgeous antique patina!!! The sphalerite crystals are intergrown with the
native silver!!! The sphalerite crystals have glassy luster and range in color from near black to gemmy green!!! Upon close examination one
can also see a few tiny adularia crystals in association (not visible in the pics)!!! This specimen came from the collection of Bob Jenkins and retains a handwritten label (label notes
it was from the Vienna Museum but bears no museum label)!!! This is a rare and unusual, old time example of native silver
from Guanajuato!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 17th!!!
