Sklodowskite & Torbernite Oyler Mine, Fruita, Wayne Co., Utah 6.3cm x 4.7cm x 3.75cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of sklodowskite from this rare and historic Utah locality!!! This specimen hosts a rich cluster of bright yellow acicular crystals of sklodowskite protected in a shallow recess!!! There are also several crystals of green torbernite in association as well!!! In addition to the main cluster of sklodowskite crystals, there is a rich distribution of microcrystals scattered about the specimen as well!!! This specimen is very intensely colored in person and is quite striking indeed!!! When I first saw this specimen I thought I was looking at a specimen from Shinkolobwe!!! This specimen retains an old enamel catalogue number on the bottom as well!!! These old time specimens from the Oyler Mine are quite scarce indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
