Description/Interesting Notes:
A gorgeous example of this classic occurence from Arkansas!!! This specimen consists of a sphalerite crystal matrix that hosts a showy cluster of curvaceous, saddle-shaped dolomite crystals that
have been completely replaced by greenockite included smithsonite crystals!!! The dolomite crystals are complete pseudomorphs - some of them
are even partially hollow, with just scant lattice-works of smithsonite stringers inside!!! Upon close examnination, one can see that there
are numerous spikey, intense yellow smithsonite crystals covering the pseudomorphic crystals!!! In addition to these spikey smithsonite crystals there are also
scattered smithsonite crystals that exhibit bulbous, wheat-sheef-like habits and rounded sprays!!! This intensely colorful cluster of
pseudomorphs is dramatically perched atop a large sphalerite crystal, which makes for a particularly showy display indeed!!! Classic material!!! Simply
gorgeous in person!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 5th!!!
