Smithsonite with Aurichalcite Kelly Mine, Magdalena District, Socorro Co., New Mexico 4.6cm x 3.65cm x 3.52cm Ex. Larry Krause Collection

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of smithsonite from this famous locality!!! This specimen hosts an intensely colorful showing of blue-green smithsonite on aurichalcite!!! Although it is difficult to discern in the photos, the smithsonite crystals exhibit a complex variety of habits and are actually quite well crystallized!!! There are some intergrown layers of bright blue green aurichalcite as well - which give some of the smithsonite crystals a somewhat pearlescent appearance!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and is very showy in person!!! The pictures don't even come close to doing it justice!!
