Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic example of cadmian smithsonite from Ireland!!! This specimen consists of an intense,
bright yellow botyroidal cluster of smithsonite crystals on a matrix of purplish fluorite!!! This
smithsonite has incredibly intense cadmian-yellow color that is just about the brightest I have
seen (It almost looks radioactive in person)!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition, what might appear to be
damage in the pics are actually areas where the crystals from an outer layer do not completely cover the underlying layer!!! The smithsonite formed
on a cluster of cubic fluorite crystals (if you notice, you can discern the roughly cubic forms underlying the botryoidal smithsonite) and one can see parial
crystals of purple fluorite on the reverse!!! This is OLD material, likely dating back a century or more!!! The pics say it all!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 24th!!!
