Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent, old time example of smithsonite from this famed locale!!! This specimen consists of a showy botryoidal cluster of choice, intense blue green smithsonite crystals in association with some aurichalcite-malachite matrix!!! This specimen has a gorgeous, bright velveteen luster and superb translucence!!! This is actually gem-grade Kelly smithsonite with choice color!!! The pics simply do not capture just how fine it is in person!!! The color is absolutely superb!!! This specimen is in pristine condition with no damage whatsoever!!! There is some colorful matrix in association that is comprised of compact, concentric bands of blue aurichalcite and green malachite (although it is possible these are just dramatic color variations between alternating layers of aurichalcite I suppose as well)!!! This specimen is absolutely gorgeous in person!!! Classic old time material!!! This specimen came from the collection of Larry Krause!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
