Smithsonite var. Cadmium Smithsonite

Tsumeb, Namibia

7.06cm x 4.53cm x 3.5cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of smithsonite from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of curiously colored, light yellow crystals of cadmium smithsonite!!! This specimen boast a broad face covered in sharp, lustrous, and pristine smithsonite crystals to over 1.2cm!!! These large smithsonite crystals actually appear to host slightly darker colored phantoms within that are accompanied by curious submillimeter crystalline inclusions (unknown species)!!! This specimen is actually comprised of near solid smithsonite, with the opposite side hosting its own coverage of smaller, colorless smithsonite crystals with dark tan/orange cores as well!!! A very fine smithsonite indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! crystal measures over 1.2cm Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY May 20th!!!
