A rare and unusual old-time specimen from Tsumeb's first oxidation zone!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of complex smithsonite crystals in
aesthetic association with apple green bayledonite and bayledonite pseudomorphs after mimetite!!! The smithsonite crystals appear to have black coatings with numerous
crystals having fine, almost hair-like growths of colorless/white smithsonite portruding through the black coating!!! Scattered amongst the smithsonite
crystals, and appearing to comprise a portion of the matrix, are numerous sharp hexagonal prisms of bayledonite after mimetite!!! This is simply an
extraordinary specimen!!! This specimen is loaded with crystals on all sides, it is essentially stalactitic, and it displays magnificently!!! The color
and contrast is WAY better than it appears in the pics!!! This specimen is amazing in person - lively and striking!!!
This specimen retains old labels from the Sunshine Acres School (a very "unique" fully
accredited private school - circa 1939, it was part of the nation's first Nudist colony), and the Wintringham Collection!!!
