Description/Interesting Notes: A unique example of cobaltoan smithsonite on pyrite from Tsumeb!!! This specimen hosts highly complex crystals of light pink cobaltoan smithsonite on a rounded matrix covered with small, brassy pyrite crystals!!! The smithsonite crystals have handsome pink color and marked translucence!!! The crystals range in size up to 1.3cm and exhibit a unique combination of forms!!! While Tsumeb is known for its incredible variety of mineral species, pyrite is actually somewhat uncommon!!! The rich association with pyrite crystals is not only unusual, but it makes for a very attractive pairing as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
