A rare, old time example of cadmium smithsonite from this seldom referenced locale!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of botryoidal, translucent
cadmium smithsonite on a chert matrix!!! There is a small amount of galena and sphalerite in association as well that can be seen on the sides of the specimen!!! Even
more exciting is the fact that there appears to be two smithsonite pseudomorphs after cubes of galena!!! Specimens from the Oronogo Field (which is several miles north of Joplin) are
very rarely seen on the market today!!! This specimen retains an old dealer label!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
