Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique example of smithsonite from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a matrix of sphalerite with some galena that is nearly covered with
large, complexly flattened crystals that measure up to over 1.8cm in association with a lone prismatic crystal of cerussite!!!
The crystals are sharp and lustrous with marked translucence!!! The cerussite crystal is lustrous and sharp, with a somewhat
curious appearance!!! Interestingly, the matrix is comprised mostly of sphalerite, with some galena in association!!!
The areas of exposed matrix between the smithsonite crystals actually exhibits some crudely crystallized sphalerite!!! Upon close examination there
are also some very intruiging submillimeter crystals to be found scattered about the specimen as well!!! A very interesting specimen indeed!!! Although there
is some minor damage, the specimen still displays quite handsomely as you can see!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be
seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 2nd!!!
