A rare, old time example of aquamarine from Switzerland!!! This specimen consists of a single crystal of smoky quartz that hosts a
gemmy, 1cm aquamarine crystal partially included within!!! Although the crystals aren't complete, this is old historic material and a
fantastic example of the species for the locality!!! This specimen originally came from the famed George Kunz (Kunzite, vice president of
Tiffany's, etc.) before it went to Irenee du Pont, Sr. and then to the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum (history is evidenced by the
314-prefix of the antique catalogue number, these were all the specimens DuPont acquired from Kunz)!!! The aquamarine crystal has terrific color and
is quite gemmy and bright as well!!! Upon close inspection, one can see some tiny acicular inclusions in the smoky quartz crystal as well!!! Rare
old time material!!!
