Smoky Quartz with Hematite Cleator Moor, West Cumberland Iron Field, North and Western Region (Cumberland), Cumbria, England 7.7cm x 6.3cm x 5.6cm circa 1890

Description/Interesting Notes: A large and impressive, old time example of quartz and hematite from this classic English locality!!! This specimen consists of a large, single smoky quartz crystal in association with a small amount of crystalline hematite matrix!!! The crystal has large, sharp, glassy faces and handsome smoky color with some reddish hematite phantoms and a few small hematite crystals included within!!! This old time beauty is quite showy in person!!! This specimen retains several old labels along with notation that dates the specimen to 1890!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!!
