A gorgeous example of gem spessartine garnet from Afghanistan!!! This specimen consists of a well balanced muscovite matrix that hosts a
striking - intensely fiery, ruby red crystal of gem-clear spessartine garnet!!! This crystal actually formed completely embedded in the
muscovite, which has resulted in an unusually bright luster and sharp faces for the locality!!! The crystal is thick and substantial, complete and
pristine!!! Because it is so sharp, glassy, and gemmy - and the color is so intense - the specimen is incredibly showy and lively in person!!! The
mica on the reverse also serves as a sort of mirrored-back to the crystal and yet the muscovite is actually gemmy on the opposing axis which allows
even more light into the crystal!!! It literally looks as though it is "plugged in" even in a dim room!!! You simply have to see this specimen in person
to see just how bright and impressive it is!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
