Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of GEM spessartine garnet from this seldom referenced locality!!! This specimen consists of a complexly etched cluster of spessartine garnet crystals!!! This specimen has intense, deep orange color with just a hint of red!!! The crystals have bright, glassy luster and sharply defined faces!!! This specimen has GEM clarity throughout!!! The reverse has a velveteen surface comprised of thousands of microscopic crystal faces and a light dusting of what appears to be greenish chlorite!!! Despite being incomplete, this specimen displays magnificently in person and is bursting with color and fire!!! This is a significant example of spessartine for the locality indeed!!!
