Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of sphaerosiderite from this classic locality!!! A gorgeous 19th century specimen of sphaerosiderite - the
botryoidal varietal of siderite!!! This specimen consists of a broad vug in basalt matrix that hosts a striking showing of prominent botryoids of
sphaerosiderite!!! The sphaerosiderite crystals exhibit characteristic form with marked translucence and a fantastic velvety sheen that
exhibits a pronounced iridescence!!! The specimen displays fantastically and is way better than the pictures show!!! This specimen
dates back well over a century and retains numerous old labels!!! This specimen retains an old Krantz label that dates to the latter
1800's as well as subsequent labels and notation from the Dear collection, Thurstons, and Cilen collection!!! The pics hardly
do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
