Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of sphalerite from this historic locale!!! This specimen hosts numerous sharp, complex
crystals of gemmy sphalerite in association with chalcopyrite, galena, and an unidentified green mineral!!! Let me start off
by saying that this specimen is WAY better than the pics show and has a very unique aesthetic to it in person!!! The
crystals show intense golden yellow color with large areas of gem clarity!!! The crystals have sharp, lustrous faces with
highly complex modifications!!! The crystals show dynamic flashes of brilliant golden yellow fire within!!!
The matrix hosts a significant showing of chalcopyrite, galena that has a dark iridescent patina, and an unidentified
lively green mineral!!! OLD material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection
of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be
some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was
originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY FEBRUARY 14th!!!
