Description/Interesting Notes:
A gorgeous old time example of sphalerite and galena from this classic Mexican locale!!! This specimen consists of a
showy combination of razor-sharp sphalerite crystals and brilliantly metallic, unusually formed galena crystals on a matrix of
lustrous calcite crystals!!! The sphalerite crystals have dark color with bright, glassy luster and razor-sharp faces and details!!! The sphalerite crystals
almost form "cups" that appear to hold what almost look like liquid metal galena crystals!!! In person, one can clearly see that
the galena crystals have defined forms that imply there are several crystals intergrown together or possible twinned crystals!!! The
crystals have absolutely brilliant metallic luster and one can see handsome details on some faces as well!!! This specimen is in
pristine condition and is WAY, WAY better than the pics show!!! This is a killer specimen in person and displays stunningly all around!!!
This specimen is from the University of Delaware Mineral Museum and retains a museum label and affixed catalogue number as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
