Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of gem spinel from Mogok!! This specimen consists of a complexly modified octahedral crystal of pink spinel!!! The crystal exhibits a characteristic octahedral habit that has oddly rounded features!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or a scope, one can see that these are not alluvial features or damage but natural features that formed in situ!!! This crystal has glassy luster and fantastic gem clarity!!! This specimen is quite bright and lively in person and the playful pink hue is quite striking!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
