Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare example of stannite with mushistonite and pseudomalachite from South Dakota!!! This specimen hosts a significant showing of
darkly colored stannite that has been largely altered to green mushistonite in association with slightly bluish green pseudomalachite on a
matrix of quartz and muscovite!!! The stannite is present as brecciated masses of darkly colored, metallic stannite scattered
throughout a complex boxwork of mushistonite!!! The mushistonite is rich and appears to have formed as an alteration of what was once
more massive stannite!!! There are several areas of bright, slightly bluish green pseudomalachite present in association as well!!! Upon
close inspection, there are some minute areas of an unidentified bluish mineral as well!!! This material is very rarely seen from this locality!!! This
specimen was exchanged from the South Dakota School of Mines to Michigan Tech's A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains a label from
the Seaman Museum that details the exchange!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 31st!!!
