A unique old time example of staurolite from North Carolina!!! This specimen consists of a
sharp "cross" twin of staurolite in association with small spessartine garnets!!! Usually,
the garnets associated with these specimens are reduced to rounded opaque masses, however this specimen hosts
a spessartine crystal that is actually sharp and gemmy!!! Also, there is a lively red spessartine crystal - consisting of crystal grains
embedded right in the center of crystals' intersection!!! The pics say it all!!! This specimen is from the Albert Peppis Collection
- detailed information about both him and the collection are on our
"About Me" page - so be sure to check it out!!!
